Sony announces new Bravia TV series with support for AirPlay and HomeKit

Before CES 2021, Sony announced its latest TVs with ‘human intelligence’, HomeKit support and AirPlay.

The Sony Bravia XR series has several main features, including the unique Cognitive Processor XR. They boast leading machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) to provide the best image and sound for a particular scene.

Apple users will be delighted that HomeKit and AirPlay are available in all three of the new TV series. Sony says that users should use iOS 12.3 or later or macOS 10.14.5 or later to use these features.

Sony has officially announced three TVs under the Bravia XR brand, including the Master Series Z9J 8K LED, Master Series A90J / A80J OLED and Master Series X95J / X90J 4K LED. The primary feature is that the Cognitive Processor XR performs active audio and video analysis to provide the best entertainment in the class.

Other features include Google TV with “Hey Google” functionality, HDMI 2.1 compatibility and specialized calibration modes for Netflix and IMAX video. The retail price and availability will be announced in the spring of 2021.
