Some cabinet members hold preliminary talks on calling for the 25th amendment to remove Trump from office

Anna Cristina “Rickie” Niceta, White House social secretary, resigned immediately, a White House official told CNN.

Niceta was the sole social secretary of the Trump administration, accepting the post in February 2017.

Niceta becomes the second senior East Wing staff member to resign from her job following today’s violent protests at the Capitol.

Stephanie Grisham, former White House communications director and press secretary and current chief of staff to first lady Melania Trump, resigned on Wednesday afternoon.

Some background on Niceta’s role: The social secretary oversees and oversees all White House events, from small meetings in the West Wing, to the annual Easter egg, Halloween, state visits and congressional picnics and galas.

Prior to becoming social secretary, Niceta was an executive officer at Washington, DC, the catering company Design Cuisine. Melania Trump hired Niceta after she was impressed with the food during the inaugural afternoon in the American Capitol building.
