Director Zack Snyder has revealed why he chose to wear Henry Cavill Superman’s black suit in his upcoming Justice League miniseries for HBO Max.
Director Zack Snyder recently revealed why he chose to include Superman’s black suit in his cut of Justice League, which debuted on HBO Max in March 2021.
“I really was always a very strong supporter of the black suit,” Snyder told ComicBook Debate. ‘I really wanted the black suit; it made sense to me because … Superman is a notorious character who does not grow. He’s like a rock and everything just breaks out against him. ‘
He added: “And we learn from ourselves by changing something that is immutable.”
The director described it as ‘the old way, the old Superman’. He explained that she had to make ‘Superman’ a level in every step and learn something and be something else … What I planned was that the last step for Superman, [was] his real return, or his real coming to what I would consider the classic Superman. ‘

“We don’t really get it in this movie, the classic Superman. I also feel like the black suit is a great time sketch,” Snyder continued. “If you see a flashback or a flashback, let him know in the black suit in time where you are, because it’s very specific to this particular bow.”
Superman’s black suit made its debut in 1993 Reign of the Supermen! It was then designed Superman: The Man of Steel artist Jon Bogdanove, and first appeared in Action Comics # 689, featuring art by Jackson “Butch” Guice.
