Snow moves Saturday night and continues until Sunday. This event will bring heavy snow in much of the area, especially communities near Lake Michigan. The journey will be very difficult on Saturday night, but most of Sunday.
Snow will move Saturday night and continue into the night. A few inches of congestion is likely by midnight. Winds will also be windy, which reduces visibility and can blow the snow. Lowest overnight falls to about 30 degrees.
Sunday morning, snow will be widespread, with a few more inches piling up by 8 p.m. Snow will fall in the interior in the early afternoon, but snow will continue near the lake. The snow with more more will continue through the afternoon from Sheboygan through Kenosha, with scattered snow in the evening for Racine and Kenosha provinces. Sunday will again be a windy day with gusts up to 35 km / h. Elevation Sunday will be in the low thirties, but it will feel colder due to the wind.
Big waves will build from 7 to 10 feet on Lake Michigan, and with a land wind, some flooding and erosion along the shore is possible.
In total, snow amounts near the lake will be higher than areas inland. Jefferson, Dodge and Fond du Lac probably see 2-6 “snow, while we expect closer to the lake 6-10”. It will be heavy, wet snow, so be careful while hoeing and take regular breaks.
Monday – Wednesday looks pretty quiet with a bit of sunshine. A sloppy rain-snow mix looks Thursday. Check back for updates.
