‘SNL’ jabs at Cuomo, Newsom, Whitmer in the Coronavirus gameplay sketch presented by Fauci

“Saturday Night Live” entertained Andrew Cuomo, New York, for a second weekend – this time with fellow Democrats Gavin Newsom of California and Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan.

The three governors (played by members of the “SNL”) served as judges in an ethically questionable games program, dr. Anthony Fauci, called “So You Think You Can Get the Vaccine?”

Cuomo (Pete Davidson) has been portrayed as ‘currently under fire for harassing old, dead people, and also allegations of sexual harassment that make you say,’ Yes, I could see that. ‘

The real Cuomo has recently been embroiled in multiple scandals: he is accused of harassment by two former female caregivers and committing deaths in the nursing home.

Newsom (Alex Moffat), who faces a recall attempt, has also been derogatoryly portrayed as ‘hated by every person in California except for the ten people he once ate with in Napa’.

He described the situation of the coronavirus in his condition as ‘teeth white, bodies dense, COVID quite bad’.

Whitmer (Cecily Strong) joined the others while Fauci (Kate McKinnon) explained the idea behind the game show.

“The vaccine should not be a competition, but Americans will only want it if it means someone else cannot,” Fauci explained before launching a series of contestants who clearly would not qualify.

One woman claimed to be an ‘essential’ worker because she did IT for the risky website OnlyFans and had herpes, while another pretended to be an old woman because she wanted a man who fit in a relationship has come.

The vaccines were refused, but Fauci promised losers prizes, such as a Pfizer visor, and because it rhymes with vaccine, “Maxine,” a “crunchy” cartoon character from Hallmark greeting cards.

The governors were also given the opportunity to explain who counts as an essential worker in their respective states.

Newsom said California is immunizing “police, hospital staff, neuropaths and psychologists”; Whitmer said Michigan gives it to ‘fishermen, trucks and trappers’; and Cuomo said: ‘tough guys, wise guys, rich guys and Five Guys’ in New York can roll up their sleeves for the injection.

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas (Aidy Bryant), also joined the show as a contestant, but it looks like he wants an angler to showcase his stand-up comedy talents rather than try the vaccine get.

“It’s great to be back in New York,” the senator said, repeating the comedy routine of his CPAC appearance this week. “Sorry, my arms are tired because I just flew back from Cancun, Mexico.”

The real Cruz made a similar joke at the conference in Orlando, Florida, to highlight his bad trip to a sunny resort amid his winter storm crisis in his state.

Eventually, the governors were willing to give the vaccine to an 85-year-old contestant who described himself as the ‘world’s proudest grandfather’.

But it did not work out, because he could not register for it online – or, as he calls it, “on what?” – and he did not think he could find a young person to click ‘refresh’ for the “three consecutive days”.

“But if you feel sick,” Davidson’s Cuomo advised the old man, ‘make sure you leave the nursing home and get to the hospital. Wink. ‘
