Smith’s Food & Drug is offering a limited amount of free COVID-19 vaccines next week

SALT LAKE CITY – Pharmacists in some locations in Utah Smith will offer COVID-19 vaccinations from next week after the company received a limited amount of Moderna vaccine.

The vaccinations will be from 11 February for people aged 70 and older at selected blacksmith pharmacies.

According to Smith’s, those eligible for the vaccine will be able to schedule an appointment online, then come to the pharmacy, get their chance and wait 10-15 minutes to make sure there are no adverse reactions before leaving. The vaccines are provided to patients free of charge.

“We are so excited. We are just ready to end this, just like everyone else, and being a part of it is really a great honor, “said Smith’s pharmacy director Jaime Montuoro.

Smith’s says they are first trying to get the vaccine in rural as well as underserved areas in metro locations, but they hope to have the vaccine at all of their pharmacy locations.
