SLO County reports 57 new COVID-19 cases, another 7 deaths

San Luis Obispo County health officials on Friday reported 57 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the province’s total to 19,340 confirmed cases on February 19th.

The province has also added seven new COVID-19 deaths. To date, SLO County has recorded 217 deaths attributed to the virus.

Health officials say 22 people are currently hospitalized. Another 684 are strong at home and according to health officials, 18,395 people have recovered.

Seventeen of the 38 licensed and crew members’ beds in the country are currently occupied. Nine of these are taken by COVID-19 patients.

  • Pismo Beach – 308
  • Atascadero State Hospital (patients) – 205

  • Avila Beach – 26
  • San Simeon – 21
  • Bradley – 7

The location of 64 additional cases is being investigated, and another eight are being named as ‘other’, which includes communities with less than five cases. The Department of Public Health does not identify these sites.

Joint COVID-19 testing sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
