SLO County reports 4 more deaths attributed to COVID-19

San Luis Obispo County reports the deaths of four more people who tested positive for COVID-19.

Health officials say the patients were between the ages of 80 and 100 years old.

San Luis Obispo County has now attributed 74 deaths to COVID-19.

The province also added 63 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the province’s total to 9,602 confirmed cases on December 29.

On Monday, health officials in the province said they expected the daily number of cases to rise in the coming days due to a discrepancy between the province and the state’s reporting and a silence during the test weekend.

Currently, 59 people with COVID-19 are hospitalized in San Luis Obispo County, including 12 patients who are in the ICU. Another 2,034 people are strong at home and health officials say 7421 people have recovered.

According to California State’s online COVID 19 dashboard, there are currently 23 ICU beds available in San Luis Obispo County.

The location of 34 additional cases is investigated and another 12 are named as ‘other’, which includes communities with less than five cases. The Department of Public Health does not identify these sites.

Joint COVID-19 testing sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
