SLO County reports 112 new COVID-19 cases, another 6 deaths

San Luis Obispo County public health officials report 112 new COVID-19 cases over two days, bringing the province’s total to 19,612 confirmed cases on February 25th.

Eighty-two new cases were added on Wednesday and 30 new cases were added on Thursday.

Daily figures were not released on Wednesday due to the delay in state data.

Six additional COVID-19-related deaths were also reported. To date, SLO County has recorded 227 deaths attributed to the virus.

Health officials say 24 people are currently hospitalized. Another 551 strong at home and health officials say 18,796 people have recovered.

Seventeen of the 38 licensed and crew members’ beds in the country are currently occupied. Five of them are taken by COVID-19 patients.

The location of 48 additional cases is being investigated, and another eight are being cited as ‘other’, which includes communities with less than five cases. The Department of Public Health does not identify these sites.

Joint COVID-19 testing sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
