San Luis Obispo County reported 217 new cases of COVID-19 over three days, bringing the province’s total to 18,684 confirmed cases on February 8th.
Eighty-eight new cases were added on Saturday, 83 new cases were added on Sunday and 46 new cases were added on Monday.
The province also added two new COVID-19 deaths. To date, there have been 196 total deaths due to the virus in SLO County.
Health officials say 43 people are currently hospitalized. Another 1,136 people recover at home and health officials say 17,286 people have recovered.
San Luis Obispo County reports that 20 of the 38 ICU beds in the country are currently licensed and staffed. Eight of them are taken by COVID-19 patients.

The location of 75 additional cases is investigated and another seven are mentioned as ‘other’, which includes communities with less than five cases. The Department of Public Health does not identify these sites.
Joint COVID-19 testing sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
