SLO Co-teachers eligible for covid-19 vaccine from next week

Vaccinations will open to more residents of the country from next week.

Earlier this week, Gavin Newsom announced a new plan that would set aside 10 percent of all vaccination doses for educators.

During a press conference this afternoon, dr. Penny Borenstein, director of the county’s public health, said teachers and caregivers of childcare could be vaccinated next week.

“Our childminders and our nursery school up to and including the 12th grade school, staff and teachers doing personal services will have access to a number of appointments from next week. We honor our 10 percent award going to the sector,” said Dr. . Penny Borenstein, public health officer in San Luis Obispo County.

Borenstein says the province will prioritize agricultural workers and law enforcement thereafter as they can open more of the current level.

Those over the age of 65, as well as health workers, can also still be vaccinated.
