Skyrim can run at 60FPS on PS5 with one simple mode, do not disable trophies

Skyrim PS5 60fps Mod

And just like that, someone created a mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition that runs the game at 60 frames per second on PS5 (and PS4, sort of). The author of the mod, MrWright, posted a brief overview of how it works on YouTube, and it’s safe to say that Skyrim has never fared better on PlayStation consoles.

You happened to read the heading correctly. As the description of the mod explains, Skyrim can indeed run at 60 fps without compromising Trophy functionality. Below is a quick outline of how you can make this work.

  1. Download the 60fps mod and activate it
  2. Start a save (or start a new one)
  3. Go back to the main menu (without closing the game completely)
  4. Disable the 60fps mod in the mod menu
  5. Skyrim now has to run at 60 fps, even without the mod enabled, which makes trophies possible (as long as you do not use any other mods)
  6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 each time you open Skyrim

Again, if any other mods are enabled, Trophies will still not be available.

And yes, this mod also works technically on PS4 and PS4 Pro, but the results are not nearly as noticeable compared to when the game on PS5 is backwards compatible.

So there you have it: Skyrim runs at (approximately) 60 fps on PS5. Are you tempted to return to the world of the Dragonborn with this mod? Shout out in the comments below.
