Sixers Bell Ringer: Sixers Defeat Sacramento for Fourth Consecutive Victory

Sixers Bell Ringer Season:

Joel Embiid – 11
Tobias Harris – 5
Skud Milton – 3
Ben Simmons – 3
Tyrese Maxey – 1
Dakota Mathias – 1

After dragging on the defensive side in the first half and Sacramento were able to score 71 points in the first half, the Sixers held on defensively in the third and fourth quarters. An important 10-0 run halfway through the final frame enabled the Sixers to take the lead, and they persevered for the 119-111 victory. It was the team’s fourth consecutive win (which makes a difference a year!) And the 14th consecutive win to start the season with the full starting lineup available. Now for the Bell Ringer nominees …

To describe a Zumoff-is, Tobias grew up in the fourth quarter tonight and scored 12 points in the period. It was a Harris 3 with 6:40 left in the game that gave the Sixers their first lead since the second quarter, and it followed a few minutes later with another big triangle to make it a three-possession. to make match. 8-out-15 from the field and 2-out-5 from behind the arc – just another ho-hum, effective outing for the team’s new Mr. Consistent, making the habit of not shrinking in the big moments.

Seth Curry: 22 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 3 turnovers

I think tonight was a hopeful sign that Seth might feel better. Recently delayed by illness after COVID, Curry broke out for his most points since his 28-point total against the Wizards on Jan. 6, picking up 16 of his 22 points before halftime to help the Sixers stay within striking distance. The sharpshooter finished 4-out-6 from downtown, and the pull-up jumper was as sweet as ever. We are now a few games removed from Seth’s consecutive pointless outings; it must be that all systems move forward, causing problems for the opposition.

Joel Embiid: 25 points, 17 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 4 turnovers

NBA: Philadelphia 76ers by Sacramento Kings

For much of the game, tonight was a poor night by Joel’s MVP ceiling standards. Now he still made a lot of offenses (13-out-14 on the line) and an excellent chase that was the perfect cross-section of pressure and instinctive timing. But he was offensively passive the first few quarters, despite long periods with Marvin Bagley covering him. That is, until the fourth quarter when he switched to Destroyer of Worlds mode. Embiid scored 10 points in the final period and suddenly thwarted the defensive effort and suffocated everything the Kings tried to do when he entered the field. We also have to give Joel props for his six best seasons. Still, it’s crazy to see his final rule, which would be a season-best for much of the league, consider: ‘Hmm, Joel did not have his best stuff tonight.’

Furkan Korkmaz: 13 points, 3 rebounds, 0 turnovers

Like the game-winner over Portland, the West Coast games at late night sometimes deliver only the best in Furkan. The young winger was on track in the first half and scored all five of his field goals, including a couple of tries. He also throws down a thundering dunk, rides off the left wing and throws it down with his right hand; I would have given it a 6-out-10 during the dunk game (needed a Father mask). Korkmaz cooled down in the second half, but Furkanity was in power for a few minutes tonight.

Matisse Thybulle: 0 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 0 turnovers

De’Aaron Fox first half: 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting.

De’Aaron Fox second half: 11 points on 4-of-17 shooting.

The Sixers will not win this game tonight without Matisse assuming primary defensive responsibility for Fox in the second half.

Ben Simmons: 14 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 steal, 2 turnovers

Ben started quickly in this and scored a team high of nine in the first quarter. He wanted to be aggressive and attack in the transition, that is when he is at his best. Even when the track was closed to him, his speed to push the ball off the track more often than not freed up a teammate for an open look around the perimeter. The league leader for three-point assistants scored four more on the night.
