Sixers Bell Ringer: Philadelphia Stumbles in Grizzlies Rash

Sixers Bell Ringer Season:

Joel Embiid – 17
Tobias Harris – 11
Ben Simmons – 7
Skud Milton – 5
Matisse Thybulle – 2
Danny Green – 2
Tyrese Maxey – 2
Dakota Mathias – 1
Furkan Korkmaz – 1
Tony Bradley – 1

After the Sixers played the night before, the Sixers penetrated Sunday night with a rest disadvantage and without Joel Embiid, who sat out after making his return from an injury against Minnesota. In the first half, the Sixers committed the hidden toilet offense and fell 10 points behind. In the third quarter, the clogged toilet began to spew sewage everywhere, and Memphis exploded for 45 points during the period. The Grizzlies led by as many as 28 points, before the empty crew members brought Philadelphia to within 13 in the fourth quarter, which led Memphis to the beginners having to re-enter the game. Another moral victory! The Sixers eventually fell, 116-100. Let’s go to the Bell Ringer.

Tobias Harris: 21 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, 2 turnovers

Tobi was the only starter who had a productive game at the offensive end, finishing in just 27 minutes of action 8-of-14 off the field and 5-of-6 from the foul line. In addition to his usual difficult turn-around jumpers and full-steam attacks in the open track, Harris also made some sharp cuts to round off Ben Simmons’ baskets. If the rest of the rotation had pulled its weight, the Closer would have been ready to bring this one home.

Paul Reed: 10 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 1 turnover

BBall Paul only burned himself in the first quarter and picked up a Furkan Korkmaz dish shortly before the end of the period. However, it was his job in the fourth quarter that made heads turn as part of the third unit that dropped a 20-5 run at Memphis. Reed was his usual energy ball, jumping past lanes and bouncing in skin protection while throwing down even more slams, including a fierce one-handed reverse. The only downside was that Doc Rivers said after the game that Paul was not ready to see time as a small ball. He’s ready, Doc!

Isaiah Joe: 6 points, 2 assistants, 0 turnover

Joe flashed his playing ability on that bench battalion, earning for himself a few trips to the charity line and making some slippery slips for Reed dumps. Joe’s phone card has of course always been his outdoor shooting, and it was also good to see how he could see some DHO action with Reed at the top of the key to play a 3. Game, long distance skill, these are definitely skills which the Sixers can use more on the roster.
