Sixers Bell Ringer: Another asterisk loss for Sixers in Atlanta

Note: No traditional summary post for tonight’s match. Air all your grievances here.

Sixers Bell Ringer Season:

Joel Embiid – 4
Tobias Harris – 3
Skud Milton – 1
Tyrese Maxey – 1
Dakota Mathias – 1

With Joel Embiid back in the series and the return of he and Mike Scott who dropped the Sixers series back to nine players, it looked like Philadelphia had a better chance of winning tonight in Atlanta. At least it looked good early on, as 16 points from Embiid’s first quarter put the Sixers up to four points at the end of the period. However, things like ‘playing Embiid and Dwight Howard together’ and ‘the one-time Bell Ringer Dakota Mathias who was in the starting lineup’ eventually played a role, and the Hawks outscored the Sixers by 36 over the second and third quarters . . It also doesn’t help that veterans Scott and Danny Green combined to shoot 1-of-16 off the floor for the game.

A few minutes into the third quarter, with a back-to-back menace, Embiid was ready for the night and Alaa was busy dishonoring obscure William & Mary facts on the broadcast. The banks completely emptied a large portion of the fourth quarter and we saw more Tony Bradley ball handling than I ever imagined. Final: Atlanta 112, Philadelphia 94. Adam Silver, reminds me again why the Sixers have to endure these losses when other teams postpone their games. Let’s choose a “THEY HATE THE PROCESS” Bell Ringer.

As mentioned above, the start of the match showed signs of an “Embiid dragging the team to a victory” type. He had 16 points in the first quarter, caught the big men of the Hawks with his hands on him and drew the offense wisely (he finished 7-out-8 on the line), and attacked and, if necessary, by the defense. He was certainly guilty a few times of trying to make too much happen, which led to an awkward obstacle or two, but all 24 of his points came in the first half and with one or two more regular rotation players in the kraal. , Joel might be able to make a game out of this.

Tyrese Maxey: 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, 2 turnovers

Maxey was still far from the real treat of the “Adam Silver makes a mockery of the Sixers” season and the tower did not disappoint again. He flashes the blowing ability to get past his defender and repeatedly lays it in the glass from the zone between a runner and a set-up. Maxey also hit a mid-range pull-up and if he consistently hits that shot, the league can find a higher power better. On the defensive side, Trae Young managed to get inside the arc and throw lobbies at Clint Capela, but I would not say that Tyrese did not do a good job. He forced a few hard blows, stabbed the ball from behind on one play and set up a Slow pull-up 3 for a block so quickly and perfectly that I started getting convulsions of joy in my living room.

Isaiah Joe: 18 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1 turnover

Defensively, Joe is easily pushed from places and he is not fast enough to stay ahead of smaller guards. But given the extended playing time over the last few days, he has shown that his primary skill – shooting the rock – is indeed translating at the NBA level. Joe finished 4-out-7 of 3 and has shown no hesitation in pulling from a few feet outside the arc in the last few games. If there is nothing else, the Sixers can build something with the second round to make it rain from anywhere within 26 feet.
