‘The MHRA will certainly take the Norwegian reports seriously and investigate the data here.
‘Side effects and adverse effects are common, but have not been presented to the public in detail, which helps to get everyone on board quickly.
“But it is a short-term strategy, and in the longer term, open and transparent communication is needed.”
The side effects of the Moderna vaccine from an earlier trial were 7 percent of participants fatigue, 8.9 percent had muscle pain, 5.2 percent joint pain, 4.5 percent headache, 4.1 percent pain and 2 percent redness at the injection site.
These symptoms were reported among trial participants between 18 and 55 years of age.
Those older than 55 had many of the same side effects, but reported lower numbers, which is expected because immune responses weaken during the aging process.
Side effects reported during the trial of the Pfizer vaccine reported 59 percent of participants who reported fatigue, 52 percent of headaches, 37 percent of muscle aches, and 35 percent of colds within seven days of receiving the second dose of the vaccine. .
About 16 percent reported a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher.
