Fox News’ medical contributor, dr. Nicole Saphier, reflects on the development of vaccine trials.
Now that Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson all have coronavirus vaccines on the market and in the arms of patients, there are more vaccinations to do.
But people were quite picky about what vaccination they wanted to receive. Fox News, medical associate, dr. Nicole Saphier told FOX Business Tonight on Tuesday that patients do not have to worry about the label and have to take what they can get.
“The vaccine you are offered is the vaccine you should consider getting,” she said. ‘I do not necessarily think that every person should get a vaccine. I believe this is a personal choice. ”

Saphier said a conversation about risk versus choice is important to have with a patient’s doctor if there are underlying problems, but stressed her confidence in all three vaccines.
‘[They] “everyone has shown 100% efficiency in keeping people out of the hospital and saving their lives when it comes to the severity of COVID-19,” she said. “Therefore, if you feel that a vaccine is right for you, I encourage you to get any vaccine that is offered to you.”

Moderna recently announced that they will begin testing their vaccine on young children aged six months to 11 years. Although children are the least vulnerable to the virus, Saphier said it is important to vaccinate them to control overall transmission.
“When it comes to controlling the level of viral transmission, we want to make sure the spread of the virus is lower,” she said. “And with that, these vaccines will be tested in our children.”
Saphier said although both Moderna and Pfizer are testing vaccines for teens without them having any results yet, she is confident it will be so effective.
