Shoot at Circle Center Mall: Customers shoot at another after shoplifting – WISH-TV | Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A customer fired a gun at a person who took goods from a jewelry store in Circle Center Mall Monday afternoon, Indianapolis police said.

IMPD says no one was injured.

Authorities were looking for a suspect after a shot was fired at Twin Jewelers around 2.30pm on Monday during what was initially described as an armed robbery, police said. The store is on the second level near the food court.

“I was outside the store waiting for customers to come in, and then we heard a big bang and then people, we just saw people jumping to the other side, and people were shouting, ‘There’s a shooter.’ , “said Madison Carter, who works, at a store just below Twin Jewelers.

According to Sierra Hignite of News 8, a person at the store jumped over a counter to find chains. When he left the store and left for the mall, the person was shot by a customer.

An employee told Hignite that stores in the mall were asked to close while police worked to locate the suspect. Some shops closed shortly before 3:30 p.m.

According to police, one shell of the shell was recovered, but not a bullet. It is unclear at this time whether more than one shot was fired.

Police are looking for the theft suspect and the man who fired the gun.

Police did not release any suspicious information.

This is an evolving story and will be updated.
