As usual, Japan’s monthly offering of Switch Online offers differs slightly from the west.
The titles for Japan in February include Psycho Dream, Mario’s Super Picross (already available in the west), Solomon’s key 2 (Fire ‘n Ice) and the highlight of the lot is Atlus’s 1994 Super Famicom JRPG, Shin Megami Tensei II.
This follows the release of the original Shin Megami Tensei on the NSO service last July. Here’s a little about it, via a rough translation from Nintendo’s Japanese website:
The second in the Shin Megami Tensei series. A new choice of a new hero will determine the future of the world.
This title is a role-playing game for Super Nintendo that was released in 1994. The sequel to ‘Shin Megami Tensei’ takes place in TOKYO Millennium, a city formerly known as Tokyo. In addition to fighting demons, we sometimes negotiate to increase the number of demons (fellow demons) and challenge strong enemies.
Maintaining the characteristic that the ending changes greatly depending on the actions and choices of the main character has added various elements such as inheritance of magic in demon union and ‘virtual butler’ who can gain experience points through training in the virtual space.
These games will be available on Nintendo Switch’s Switch Online service on February 17 (same date as the western versions). To play Shin Megami Tensei II, you must have access to a Japanese Switch account and the Super Famicom app.
