Sheriff’s son in Central Texas is charged with domestic violence and possession of marijuana

GATESVILLE, Texas (KWTX) – Coryell County Sheriff Scott Williams was released on Wednesday after being arrested and charged with domestic violence and possession of marijuana.

Samuel, 27, was arrested Monday around 8:30 p.m., after officers were sent to a home in Gatesville in response to a domestic violence call, Nate Gholke, Gatesville police chief, said Wednesday.

Coy Latham, Coryell County Justice of the Peace, was charged with one count of assault causing bodily injury / domestic violence, one Class A offense and one possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, one Class B felony.

Williams was booked into Coryell County Jail Monday night and was released after posting a bond Tuesday, the records showed.

Scott Williams said he spoke to prosecutors to ensure his son is not treated differently from any other accused.
