Sheriff Mark Dannels said 5-6 groups cross daily where the fence is incomplete on the Arizona border.
Dannels’ Cochise County includes 83 km of the U.S.-Mexico border. The sheriff is also chairman of the National Sheriffs’ Association’s Border Security Committee.

Dannels told Brian Kilmeade he believes the government’s decision is politically motivated.
“It’s a product of policing,” he said. “And I always said they had no business in our business, but also did not have to do police work on what we do on this border in our communities.”
