Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris announced Tuesday afternoon that the Shelby County Department of Health has launched a COVID-19 vaccination assistance list.
He noted that this would be similar to an air travel assistance list.
Vax Queue allows people to sign up for extra doses of the vaccine, though the Department of Health still has to follow the priority list. At present, it is vaccinating health workers, people aged 75 and over, first responders and employees in the funeral industry.
People who sign up for the assistance list will be asked how soon they can get to a nearby test site, plus their age, job and concerns about underlying health conditions.
The answers will help the Department of Health to follow the state priority list.
