Sharon Osbourne: ‘Dissatisfied ladies’ drove her out of ‘The Talk’

A defiant Sharon Osbourne blamed her ‘disgruntled’ former co-stars for ‘The Talk’ for forcing her out of the CBS daily last month amid the uproar over her radio exchange with co-host Sheryl Underwood.

Osbourne spoke in public on March 26 for the first time since she divorced March 11 after 11 years of “Talk” and CBS. During an appearance on Friday’s edition of HBO’s ‘Real Time With Bill Maher’, Osbourne cited accusations of racist behavior from the past -hosts as the reason she was quickly let go by CBS. Osbourne and Maher also joked about ‘awake language’ and the heightened sensitivity around racial and ethnic equality in pop culture.

‘I’m getting used to being called names. “A racist is one I will not take,” Osbourne told Maher.

Osbourne became the last original panelist to leave ‘Talk’ after her heated altercation with Underwood over British TV personality Piers Morgan, which unfolded live on March 10. Osbourne reprimanded Underwood, claiming she was branded a racist for expressing support for Morgan. her longtime friend Morgan. Morgan caused a major setback in the UK and the US last month after rescuing Meghan Markle and voicing doubts about allegations she made in her interview with Oprah Winfrey last month.

Following the March 10 episode, former “Talk” co-hosts Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete came forward with allegations that Osbourne used insults and made other racist comments during her time in the program.

Osbourne described Maher as ‘disgruntled ladies’ and denied Remini’s allegation that Osbourne made racist remarks about the Asian ethnicity of Julie Chen Moonves, talk show host. “I never said that,” Osbourne said. ‘I do not even use those words; it’s not in my vocabulary. ”

Osbourne told Maher she would be fine in the long run, but she opposed what she described as a ‘cancel culture’ affecting the livelihoods of those who express opposing views.

“I’m fine,” she said. ‘What over the people who have been cut off from the knees and can not afford to get lessons now on what is politically correct? What happens to them? That’s not fair. This is not about a racist. It may not be knowing what the day is correct for your language. It changes from day to day which is correct. ”
