Sharon Osbourne must really love Piers Morgan. On Wednesday, Osbourne defends her British friend, who recently walked away and then left the morning show Good morning Britain after being criticized for his derogatory remarks about Meghan Markle, on The talk in a conversation with her co-presenter Sheryl Underwood. Underwood did her best to explain why many Morgan, who has more than 41,000 complaints about the way he talks about the Duchess of Sussex’s bombing interview with Oprah, and his characterization of Markle as racist, said that Osbourne’s online Morgan’s support implies that she ‘Gives validity or a safe haven to something he has expressed that is racist.’
A defensive Osbourne doubles her support for Morgan. “I feel like I’m about to sit in the electric chair,” she said before tackling an explicit, charged defense of herself as a deeply racist. “How can I be racist? How can I be racist about someone or something in my life? How can I? “Osbourne asks without providing specific evidence to substantiate her claim. “do not try to cry when someone cries, it’s me.”
Underwood concedes Osbourne’s request, explaining that Morgan’s disapproval of Markle’s race is in fact a form of racism, but it does not seem to end up with Osbourne. “If Piers does not like someone and they happen to be black, does that make him a racist? So why can he not just like her? ‘True minds know that part of the reason for Morgan’s intense dislike of Markle stems from Markle ignored his progress many months ago, which complicates matters in a crude way, but does not make Morgan’s actions less racist. Unfortunately, Osbourne’s white fragility prevented her from listening to what her black co-host had to say about the complexity and nuances of racism. But given her closeness to the incredibly fragile Morgan, it’s not too surprising. As they say, birds of a feather flock together.
