Sharon Osbourne defends Piers Morgan in ‘Real Time’, calling Prince Harry the ‘poster boy’ of ‘White privilege’

Sharon Osbourne appeared in ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’ on Friday night and addressed her controversial departure from the CBS daily ‘The Talk’.

Bill Maher kicked off the interview by asking how Osbourne has been doing since he was last seen on TV.

“I’m angry, I’m hurt,” she replied, but stressed, “I’m a fighter.”

On the subject of what led to Osbourne’s dismissal from ‘The Talk’, Maher told the former co-host: ‘I do not think anything has happened.’ He then reiterated the ordeal, in which Osbourne defended her friend Piers Morgan, who also left ‘Good Morning Britain’ over his critical remarks about Meghan Markle following the Oprah Winfrey interview.

“So he was called a racist and lost his job and you were called a racist and lost your job. Am I right?” Ask Maher.

“You got it right,” Osbourne replied. “That’s exactly how it went.”

“Who is the racist and why? And that’s what I’m trying to find out,” Maher said.

“Me too, me too,” Osbourne replied. “I’ve been called so many things in my life. I’m so used to being called names – but I will not take a ‘racist’.”

Maher then asks if anyone is considered a ‘racist’ if they do not believe ‘everything’ Markle said, an idea he calls ‘insane’.

Osbourne explained to Maher the ‘awake language’ she was told, in which the Sussex Dutch ‘were entitled to her feelings’ and that Markle was apparently ‘stripped of those’ by Morgan.

Maher insisted that the royal family was ‘cold’ for Markle and that racism could ‘possibly’ be a factor.

“The old bag is a hundred,” Maher said of Queen Elizabeth II, who turns 95 next Wednesday.

“She comes from another generation,” Osbourne replied, defending the queen.

“Okay, these are cold people and she accepted it, probably it was racism, and she considered it racism. It’s like no, it’s cold for everyone,” Maher continued.

“They are notoriously not luxurious,” Osbourne said. “I get it because of her age, she’s a different generation.”

“She’s entitled to her opinion, he’s entitled to his and that’s what it’s about,” she continued.

Maher then mentioned one of Osbourne’s former “Talk” colleagues, Elaine Welteroth, who said: “I think if you deny a woman or a woman that they color the truth and their experiences, you do not deny them, but you deny woman and colored person who see themselves in the story of this person. ”

“Deny a woman,” he doubts her, “Maher said of Morgan. “It’s not the same as denying.”

“No, it’s not,” Osbourne agrees. “She’s entitled to her opinion, Piers is entitled to his, and that’s what it’s about. That’s what it’s about! And then you’re entitled to a disagreement, discuss it in a normal way.”

“All this drama about someone saying, ‘I do not agree with my friend, but he is entitled to his opinion,’ Maher exclaimed. ‘I mean, I did not agree with everything she said.’ Harry had the weight of the world on his shoulders. “Really? He’s sixth in line for a job that has no responsibility or power.”

Osbourne calls Prince Harry the ‘poster boy’ of ‘White privilege’.

“He sits there and says Daddy cut him off so he’s not on the payroll anymore. And he was boo-hoo about it. You can ‘t feel empathy for it because you’re a healthy, bright, educated young man. “You can go do what you want to do, your life is your own,” Osbourne said.
