When it was announced that 48-year-old Shaquille O’Neal was going to make his pro wrestling debut, it was natural to at least be skeptical that the match would be good. Shaq has gone through 20 physical seasons in the NBA, and although pro wrestling has been written, it is still a very physical sport that carries and tears the body.

Up until the test, Shaq exceeded expectations when he and Jade Cargill defeated Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet in an extremely mixed team match against the team. AEW: Dynamite.
Shaq and Cody locked up first and Shaq immediately showed his strength. While Cody had the wrestling ability, Shaq had size, and that made the game believable. Shaq throws around Cody like a rag and punches him in the chest with the type of sound you can hear through Daily’s Place. Shaq even shot a chair behind and in the spot that everyone would talk about, he and Cody went through a few tables outside the ring.

Not to be overshadowed, Cargill and Velvet presented a show on their own. Since Shaq was not an ordinary AEW and Cody was already an established star, it was a platform for the two women who were new to AEW. And that’s exactly what happened to the table spot.
Velvet had her own likes, but Cargill was the star and eventually she won the match for her and Shaq. Cargill is strong and athletic, and since AEW did not do the best with their women’s division, this match was an excellent starting point for two women who can really help strengthen the division.
As for Shaq, I want to see him wrestle again. I probably would not have said it tonight, but he can hold his own. It is clear that, even without his Within the NBA duties, I do not want Shaq to wrestle every week. But if the situation works, and he has an opponent who can lead him through a great game, it might be nice to have Shaq do one or two games a year and be an attraction for PPV and ticket sales if we do again. come in full arenas. .
