Shaquille O’Neal sold his mansion in Orlando, Fla., For only $ 16.5 million – a Shaquille O’Steal – for nearly $ 12 million below the original 2018 price.
The 31,000-square-foot complex on a nearly four-acre site has 12 bedrooms, 11.5 bathrooms and a 6,000-square-foot indoor basketball court, ideal for a forward.
The posh property outside of Orlando features a showroom with 17 cars, a cigar bar and a walk-in humidor, and a soundproofed home theater. The anonymous buyer will also enjoy the house’s wine storage, three fireplaces, a chef’s kitchen, Crestron smart home technology and an office on the lake, according to the list.
The property is surrounded by water and sits between Lake Louise and Lake Butler. In addition, it has a large swimming pool that embarrasses Olympic-sized pools. According to the list, near the rock waterfall of the pool, there is an outdoor kitchen, a tiki-style cabana and a private dock with two covered slides. Next door is an 18-hole golf course.
The 7-foot-1 basketball player bought the property for $ 3.95 million (or about $ 7.2 million today with inflation) in 1993, just three years after it was built, according to local property records.
O’Neal, which is worth about $ 400 million itself, listed the property for $ 28 million for the first time in 2018 and renamed it four times before selling it. He apparently sold the property because he spends more time in Atlanta as a sports analyst for TNT’s ‘Inside the NBA,’ according to Mansion Global.
