Shannon Sharpe explains the problem he has with Tom Brady

Tom Brady has long been motivated by proving people wrong.

This was evident during his 20 seasons in New England, where he led the Patriots to six Super Bowl titles after being selected in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL draft. And that was clear last season in Tampa Bay, where he led the Buccaneers to a championship in his first year with the organization.

So it was not surprising to hear how Brady raised his doubts in a interview with Michael Strahan which aired Wednesday on “Good Morning America.” The naysayers are truly Brady’s driving force.

Shannon Sharpe apparently have a problem with this, however. Because Brady has reached unprecedented heights, but thanks to the inspiration the quarterback gets from those who question his greatness, he is not the first athlete ever to be questioned.

“The problem I have with Tom Brady is that he wants to make every experience he has unique to Tom: ‘I’m the only man who’s ever been in doubt. “What professional athlete, regardless of sport, do you think is not in doubt,” Sharpe said on Wednesday on FS1’s “Undisputed”.

All in all, it feels like a strange argument to make. Certainly, most professional athletes have probably been questioned at some point. But going from a quarterback prospect to the greatest of all time is a path that involves more than just a handful of haters. Brady’s rise from the 199th overall pick in 2000 to a seven-time Super Bowl champion is on a whole different level.

Yet Sharpe can not help but question the slide that apparently still sits on Brady’s shoulder, if only because others throughout history have shown their own slides.

“Tom thinks he’s the only one in doubt,” Sharpe argued. So he wants copyright on ‘doubt’. Just like he wanted to be ‘Tom Terrific’. He forgot that 20 years before his birth there was someone called ‘Tom Terrific’. He wants to make everything unique to him.

‘But I can tell you something else, Tom Brady. There are a lot of people who eat avocados and also eat avocado ice cream, and every place you go to ask, ‘Would you like an avocado toast? ‘… Every professional athlete is in doubt. Name a professional athlete who has no doubt. Find me one. Find one there has never been any doubt. ”

Maybe Sharpe is exactly the type of doubter Brady talked about. After all, this is not the first time Sharpe has had a ‘problem’ with Brady.
