Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian Developer bothers next game

GenDesign, the studio consisting of developers who previously worked on hit games such as Ico, Shadow of the colossus, and most recently The last guardian, started showing what it works next. Although very little of this riddle project has been seen so far, a new image of the game has recently been released.

On the official GenDesign website, the studio has updated the front page of the website with a new greeting that wishes fans well in 2021. However, the website itself also contains an image showcasing four of the games the studio has worked on. . on. The three aforementioned titles in Ico, Shadow of the colossus, en The last guardian was pictured, with the fourth game being shown as the studio’s latest project.

What the image of the new puzzle game is, there is not much to see. In terms of aesthetics, it looks very good like what GenDesign has worked on in the past and has a bright color palette. We can also see a character who looks like he’s wearing some kind of poncho, next to a boulder. Water and grass also surround this character.

Although GenDesign has not yet formally revealed what this new title will be, there are some important details about it. Work on the project has reportedly started as early as 2018. Last year it was also announced that Epic Games would fund the development of the game. GenDesign retains full control and ownership of the IP itself while dividing the profits 50/50 between the two parties.

It’s unknown just when GenDesign’s latest game may arrive, but based on this agreement with Epic, it should come to a variety of platforms. Despite releasing all of its games for PlayStation platforms in the past, it now sounds as if Xbox and PC gamers will be able to continue.

Hopefully, this initial tease from GenDesign to start the year means that the studio wants to share more about the game in 2021. If that happens eventually, we’ll let you know here on ComicBook.com
