Per The Hollywood Reporter, season three of the hit podcast Series is possibly on its way to HBO as a limited series. Host Sarah Koenig and LeBron James will deliver the CEO of the project, which is currently being developed early. Screenwriter Shola Amoo, who wrote and directed Sundance Darling The last tree, is focused on executive production, directing and pen of the text for the series yet to be titled.

According to THR, the show willfollows a young policeman and the man he is accused of beating, as the potential series highlights the flawed inner workings of a Central American courthouse and how the system affects everyone affected, from police to lawyers and citizens who are accused of crimes and victimized.

The podcast, created by This American Life, has become a kind of breeding ground for potential large-scale HBO adaptations. The instantly popular debut season of The Sound Clamp – which followed the complicated case of Adnan Syed and the murder of Hae Min Lee – was originally chosen for an adaptation that was part of a bid war. HBO eventually produced a four-part document called The case against Adnan Syed, which was nominated for an Emmy. An offshoot of Series, Nice white parents, get the pilot treatment with Issa Rae and Adam McKay as executive producers.
