Sephiroth bug makes each character’s Final Smash attack ridiculously bad in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

With new characters often come new bugs and Nintendo Unity has found it to be very good for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s youngest guest: Sephiroth.

The One-Winged Angel can put a damper on party play, as it can, under the right circumstances, cause a mistake that makes the final Smash attack of each character incredibly ineffective and in a way visually skewed.

The fact that it apparently only affects Final Smash attacks means that the competitive crowd may not have to worry much, but given how massive the informal fans of Smash Ultimate are, this is probably something Masahiro Sakurai and his team in the not too distant future.

To make the mistake happen, Sephiroth must face Pokemon Trainer. If the newcomer hits one of the three Pokémon with his Shadow Flare attack, (which causes three shadow balls to orbit the victim for a short period of time before it finally explodes and causes damage) and the character is killed the moment the balls they would hit, problems would start to arise.

Nothing unusual happens right away, but if any other characters try to execute their Final Smash, they will be very disappointed with the results. Most of these hard hitting end techniques yield a good 40% damage and are incredibly difficult to dodge, but if the above events have occurred, these maneuvers do only a small fraction of their usual damage.

Bowser, for example, usually develops in Giga Bowser and produces a huge haymaker that covers a large part of the screen. Instead of inflicting about 40% damage, it splits a meager 7.5% after successful hit.

Unity shows off every last Final Smash in the game as it is affected by the bug in the video below. Again, this is probably not extremely urgent as it is not going to directly affect most of SSBU’s matches, but you still do not want these kinds of things to float around and make your game look a bit sloppy.
