Senators say continued email delays are ‘unacceptable’

A group of 33 U.S. senators on Wednesday urged Postmaster General Louis DeJoy to address continued “unacceptable delays” in mail deliveries and questioned whether his decisions continue to hinder mail delivery.

USPS NOTICES TERM PROFIT

DeJoy, a Trump supporter who was named head of the U.S. Postal Service last year, suspended the industry changes in August after coming in for huge criticism from U.S. lawmakers over delays in deliveries. He will testify before a U.S. committee of the U.S. House of Representatives next week on the financial prospects of the Postal Service.

Last week, Reuters reported that DeJoy had warned that USPS was facing massive projected losses as it faced declining mail volumes. He warned that USPS ‘ability to deliver to all 161 million US households would be’ threatened unless ‘service, reliability and cost do not improve’, and our relevance would diminish. “
