Senator McConnell’s house in Louisville vandalized after a major stimulus condemns the state’s GOP act

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) – Updated 1/2 13:01:

The Kentucky Republican Party has issued a statement condemning the vandalism in the home of Senator Mitch McConnell.

‘Vandalism is reprehensible and there is no place in our politics for such acts. Kentuckians deserve better and the Democrats must join us in condemning this vandalism, “said Mike Lonergan, a spokesman for the Republican Party of Kentucky.

Original story:

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s home in Louisville was vandalized after his block of $ 2,000 stimulus checks to most Americans, according to the Louisville Courier Journal.

In a statement Saturday morning, McConnell said ‘I fought my career for the first amendment and the defense of peaceful protest. I appreciate every Kentucky who has participated in the democratic process, whether they agree with me or not. ”

“It’s different,” he continues. “Vandalism and the politics of fear have no place in our society.”

He concluded: “My wife and I have never been intimidated by this toxic playbook. We just hope our neighbors in Louisville are not too hurt by this radical rage. ”

A spokesman for the senator did not immediately respond when asked if he was home during the incident. Louisville metro police did not release any information about the suspects or additional information about the vandalism.

House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s home in San Francisco was also the target of vandalism after the failed attempt by Congress to give Americans $ 2,000 stimulus checks.
