After nearly 12 hours, the U.S. Senate on Friday night voted against an attempt to add a minimum wage provision of $ 15 to a massive $ 1.9 billion coronavirus stimulation package.
The vote failed 58-42 in a setback for U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., Who campaigned for the amendment.
Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said the Senate would “work through” the broad effort to pass the coronavirus bill.
