Rubio responded to the Miami Herald’s headline “White House looks at domestic travel restrictions as COVID mutations rise in Florida.”
“The Biden government is considering imposing domestic travel restrictions, including on Florida, because they fear mutations in the coronavirus threaten to reverse the difficult progress of the pandemic,” the Herald reported.
Also, Rubio tore up Biden’s government because he was considering restricting travel between states in the country.
“So now that they’re considering real restrictions on Americans in the country, I think it’s unconstitutional,” Rubio said. “I think it will be successfully challenged in court.”

Last month, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said it was unfair to claim that President Biden described his predecessor’s coronavirus-related travel ban as ‘xenophobic’, despite statements that it was in fact his view of the policy.
“I don’t think it’s a fair articulation,” she told Fox News’ Peter Doocy, who repeated Biden’s use of the term ‘xenophobic’. Doocy’s remark comes just after the White House announced a coronavirus ban on travel from South Africa.
“The president was clear that he believed the Muslim ban was xenophobic,” Psaki said. “He overthrew the Muslim ban. However, he also supported steps, travel restrictions to keep the American people safe, to ensure we get the pandemic under control. That was part of his policy, but he was critical of the former president. because he had a policy that was no more comprehensive than travel restrictions. ‘
