Self-driving Tesla hits Michigan State Police car on highway

EATON COUNTY, MI – A Tesla on an ATM hit an Michigan police car early Wednesday morning, officials confirmed.

The MSP car was parked with its emergency lights on while investigating a car crash at 5:12 p.m. on March 17 on I-96 near Waverly Road in Eaton County, when the Tesla hit him. police said.

Police said the Tesla was on a car driver and failed to move over.

According to the Tesla website, the car can “automatically steer, accelerate and brake within its lane”. It does not make the vehicle autonomous and requires supervision, according to the website.
