The Secretary of the Department of Health of Puerto Rico, Carlos Mellado López, has issued a statement to the police and to follow the prevention protocols against COVID-19 to avoid contagions.

However, we are meeting at a level of community transmission that we need to make adjustments as we are ready to protect the life and disable the contagios. Given this result, we are increasing the number of molecular samples in all of the Isla, with the proposal to identify the carrier of the virus and be able to obtain an updated epidemiological photo. But the most important thing is that our citizens help to detain the virus “, said Mellado López in written statements.
According to the statistics of the Department of Health, the number of molecular tests carried out in the Isle of March has reached a total of 1,928,745. Of those numbers, 107,884 miles proved to be positive for the virus.
According to the explanation, the positivity means the percentage of positive tests of the total tests performed in a given period. The highest level of positive action during the pandemic will take place between November and December 2020, a period in which more than 10 million proven diaries will be realized.
“We have seen that the number of positive cases has increased. Particularly in adolescents and adults less than 40 years old, we are already implementing strategies as we are working to prevent the contagios and detect the positive cases in time.
