The widow of a California health worker who died after receiving the second dose of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine says her late husband “believed in vaccines.”
X-ray technician Tim Zook’s health deteriorated sharply after receiving the second shot, and he was eventually transferred to the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, where he died on January 9th.
“We do not blame any pharmaceutical company,” Zook’s widow, Rochelle, told the Orange County Registry. “My husband loved what he did. He worked in hospitals for 36.5 years. He believed in vaccines. I’m sure he would take the vaccine again, and he wants the public to take it.”

An investigation has been launched into Zook’s death after he allegedly developed an attack on medical problems after the second dose of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine.
The Orange County Coroner confirmed that he was investigating Zook’s death in a statement sent to Fox News by email. Additional tests and autopsy findings will determine the cause of death.
“If it is determined that there may be a link with the vaccine, we will notify the OC Health Care Agency immediately,” spokeswoman Carrie Braun said in a confirmed statement sent to Fox News.
Zook, 60, worked at the South Coast Global Medical Center in Santa Ana, according to the Orange County Register. He posted a photo of his bandaged arm and vaccine card on Facebook and wrote that he “has never been so excited to get a chance before. I am now fully vaccinated after receiving my 2nd dose of Pfizer.”
A few hours later, Zook had a “stomach cramps and difficulty breathing”, and when conditions worsened, colleagues accompanied him to the ER. He expressed his wife, Rochelle,’s concerns that his problems could possibly be linked to the vaccine.
According to the report, Zook repeatedly tested negative for COVID-19, and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. He was then allegedly put on a BiPAP machine, the sales area reported. On January 7, Zook was reportedly placed in a medically induced coma and breathing through a ventilator.

Pfizer and BioNTech said they were aware of the death and were reviewing the matter thoroughly, according to a statement sent to Fox News.

Rochelle Zook told the Orange County Register that her husband was “slightly overweight, but fairly healthy.” He had high blood pressure, but it was controlled with medication, reports the exhaust valve.
“The message is: be safe, take the vaccine – but officials need to do more research,” she said. “We need to know the cause. The vaccines need to be as safe as possible. Every life is important.”

The news comes amid reports of a isolated patient in Placer County who tested positive for COVID-19 in late December, was vaccinated on Thursday and died a few hours after receiving the shot, the sheriff’s office in Placer said County announced Saturday. The case also involves an active investigation into the cause of death.
It is unclear whether the patient received the Moderna or Pfizer vaccination without a name.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the vaccine developed by Pfizer / BioNTech only after robust clinical trials and a thorough examination of safety and efficacy data.
