The second autopsy on murdered kidnapper Andrea Bharatt has begun.

This is done by pathologist Prof Hubert Daisley at Boodoo’s Funeral Home in Cunupia.

The first autopsy at the Forensic Science Center on Monday could not determine the cause of death due to the advanced decomposition of the body.

Disturbed by the unconvincing finding, activist Inshan Ishmael and restaurant owner Jenny Sharma were among several people who offered to pay for a second autopsy on Monday night.

On his Facebook page, Monday around 9pm, Ishmael said the family agreed to have the second procedure done on Tuesday at 9am.

Around 10:00 a.m., a police vehicle arrived and drove to the back of the funeral home. From a distance, police were seen wearing white hazmat suits.

There was no sign of Bharatt’s father Randolph Bharatt.

Bharatt’s body was found in the Heights of Aripo on February 4, after she was reported missing on January 28.

She worked as a clerk at the magistrate’s court in Arima. She was last seen in a car disguised as a taxi in an Arima taxi rank.
