The Rams have just lost their defensive coordinator against the Chargers, and more big changes may be on the way. Los Angeles just finished a successful season, winning a playoff game and advancing to the division round after failing to reach the post-season last year. But if they want to return to their old heights of the 2018 Super Bowl run, they will need much better production in the passing game. 
Sean McVay seems to understand this, and he has now raised many eyebrows in his last two press conferences by refusing to commit to it. Jared Goff. Los Angeles has had the best defense in the league this season, the weapons are good enough, the offensive line is solid and the coaching is good by all accounts. As such, it is reasonable to assume that the only way to raise their ceiling is for Goff to improve, as it will be difficult for the defense to play better in 2021. intercept despite the light of the league in the average depth of the target.
It sounds like McVay is far from happy with its current depth chart, but its options are limited. Goff has been under contract through the 2024 season thanks to the major expansion he signed in September 2019, which is only now starting to kick in.
