Greg Olsen, a tighthead prop from the Seattle Seahawks, was recently activated from the injured reserve after having a torn plant fascia in his foot. He appeared in his first game last week, but will put out against the San Francisco 49ers in the final season of Seattle.
Although he was listed as doubtful on Friday’s injury report, coach Pete Caroll confirmed that Olsen would not play on Sunday.
“We’re going to keep him out of the game, that’s what we’re going to do,” Carroll said after practice. ‘Just to make sure he’s ready next week. Just a little flare up from last week, but he handled it well, practiced today and went through it and all that, but we just think it’s the best thing to give him another weekend. ”
Carroll said Olsen actually only had a ‘tweak’ and that he is expected to practice again next Wednesday, which will give him almost a week to recover before preparations for the playoffs begin.
