Scottie Pippen revealed his eldest son Antron Pippen died Sunday. He was only 33.
‘I’m sad to share this yesterday, and I said goodbye to my firstborn son Antron. We both had a love for basketball and we had a lot of conversations about the game. ‘
Scottie continues: “Antron suffered from chronic asthma, and if he did not have it, I believe he would make it to the NBA. However, he never let it down – Antron stayed positive and worked hard, and I’m so proud of the man he has become. ‘
Antron was born in 1987 in Karen McCollum – who married Scottie in 1988 (they divorced in 1990).
Antron was a fairly solid basketball player who reportedly spent time at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU). Clearly, Scottie believed he had real potential, even if it was not his medical condition.
Scottie did not disclose Antron’s cause of death. However, he asks fans to pray for his family.
“Please keep his mother, Karen, and all his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. A kind heart and a beautiful soul have gone far too soon. I love you, son, rest assured until we meet again. “
Antron also played time at South Georgia Technical College – and moments ago the school paid tribute to their former player.
