Scott Pilgrim release from Limited Run Games was an outstanding success

“Not so limited, right?”

Last week was the long-awaited re-release of Ubisoft’s dynamic battle leader Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game, which returned to digital stores a decade after its initial release. It seems that fans are not taking any chances in the sale in December 2014, when it comes to Sex-Bob-omb’s much-anticipated protest.

According to a tweet from Limited Run Games’ Douglas Bogart, the dealer successfully shipped more than 25,000 physical Nintendo Switch copies within the first three hours of the pre-order window Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game the greatest LRG version of all time. This incredible number does not include PS4 physical pre-orders, nor any digital sales made directly from PSN, Microsoft Store or the eShop.

This suggests that the return of the retro-style scraper would bring the big bucks. Not only have fans crawled old and new for years for the return of Pilgrim, but people had to pick up physical copies in a double quick time, otherwise licensing issues or red tape would make them disappear again. It was an incredibly shrewd move by Limited Run to bring out a physical release, and it looks like the boutique retailer will be reaping the rewards.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition is now available on PS4, PC, Xbox One, Stadiums and Nintendo Switch. Physical editions are available on PS4 and Nintendo Switch via Limited Run Games, as well as a reprint of the title’s vinyl soundtrack and various cute brands, including keychains and pens.
