We are the caretakers

Science Fiction Turn-Based Tactical RPG We are the caretakers will launch on April 22 for $ 19.99 in Early Access for PC via Steam, developer Heart Shaped Games has announced. It will support English text, with translations in French, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese and more.

Heart Shapted Games also announced that 10 percent of the proceeds from the game’s sales go to the Rhino Recovery Fund of the Wildlife Conservation Network.

‘Our goal with We are the caretakers is to raise awareness about conservation in a way that would involve people in the issue, ”said Scott Brodie, founder of Heart Shaped Games, in a press release. “It’s a science fiction story, but the issues facing the Conductor and The Caretakers are currently present in the real world, and we hope it makes you think about how we take care of the world we live in.”

Here is an overview of the game via the Steam page:

Over

We are the caretakers is an RPG for Afroputurist group management. Assemble an arcane team of protectors in group systems inspired by Darkest dungeon, Ogre battle, en XCOM. Defend the endangered animals that your world relies on in strategic turns. Define your approach to global resistance by balancing your reputation, funds, research, animals and alliances. We are the caretakers is a challenging strategic RPG merger that asks you to protect a planet by fighting for the humans, animals and ecosystems that live in it.

Key features

  • Afro-futuristic universe Former Activision Blizzard artist Anthony Jones brings breathtaking afrofuturistic style and human empathy to a complex scientific world.
  • Reputation system – Each action has an impact on how others view the caretakers. Do they fear you? Or will they support your quest to protect the endangered Raun and decide the fate of the world?
  • Exchange-based meetings – Balance the power with diplomacy in an innovative turn-based system. Live with the consequences if you deal with the sloppy reality of animal conservation.
  • Group building Collect up to nine groups of characters with diverse traits, weaknesses, abilities and personalities. Train and upgrade your caretakers in more than 20 unique classes.
  • Grow your headquarters – Meet leaders, research technologies and recruit allies at your science fiction headquarters. Balance their conflicting demands to save our world.
  • Nuanced narration – In our morally complex world, individuals outside your group are just as important as the rangers you use on every map.
  • Generated wildlife – The challenging and procedure-generated survival mode offers endless ways to play.
  • You get a baby Raun – It will stick to your bed long after it is too big to do so reasonably. It’s adorable.
