In news that is likely to be devastating for people looking for any reasons to upgrade their TV, CBS has announced that Super Bowl LV will not be broadcast in 4K HDR. The decision was made due to complications that caused the pandemic. It’s probably not going too well with all the TV producers using the Super Bowl as the moment to clean up 2020 models at a big discount. But there are other reasons to grab these deals while they are available.
There’s more 4K content than ever, with HBO Max’s Wonder Woman 1984 to be one of the great new versions that support 4K HDR. One of the TVs below has HDMI 2.1 ports, which allow it to display certain PS5 and Xbox Series X games with 4K resolution at up to 120 frames per second.
However, if you do not like TVs, we have included some other offers for you.
Watch these amazing 4K TV shows
Vizio’s 65-inch P-Series Quantum X (pictured above) is at some retailers about $ 330 lower than the regular price. This model is close to the top of the company’s TV offering, and its specifications also place it at the top of what you can currently get in a QLED 4K TV. It features 384 local contrast zones for high contrast, and for gamers, HDMI 2.1 support will let you build the most out of your Xbox Series X, PS5, or PC, built with a recent Nvidia RTX graphics card.
Hisense is also releasing some of its large-screen 4K HDR TVs. The 75-inch H8G model with Android TV software built-in for easy streaming of movies and TV shows is currently $ 1,300 at Walmart. Like the P-Series Quantum X above, this one has a quantum dot LED screen that can provide better contrast and more accurate lighting than your average LED screen.
If you value core specifications, Best Buy sells the 85-inch Hisense H65 model for $ 1,400 (typically $ 1,700). It’s bigger than any of the above TVs, and Android TV is also built in in case you want to watch Netflix right after you unpack it. But it probably will not be magnified if you are particular about image quality, especially not when it comes to contrast and accurate backlighting.
HBO Max’s 20 percent discount extended
Remember last week when I warned that the deal that gets a 20 percent discount on a six-month subscription to HBO Max is coming to an end? Well, WarnerMedia has extended it to March 1st. So you have even more time to take advantage of this offer. The fine print: it’s open to new and returning users, and instead of paying $ 90 for six months of service, it’s about $ 70. However, you have to pay in full and in advance to get this deal.

Samsung’s next family Galaxy S series phones will be released on January 29th. You have until January 28 to order one in advance, and with that you will receive some pre-benefits. My colleague Taylor Lyles has all the details on the cost of various retailers and service providers in this post, but no matter where you get an S21, S21 Plus or S21 Ultra, you will also get $ 200 in Samsung credit. to a free Galaxy SmartTag.
While I have you, Dieter Bohn shared his thoughts on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, a phone that does well where last year’s model was too much promised and undertreated. The quality of the photo and the beautiful screen with a high refresh rate are worth reading more.
