Publisher Limited Run Games and developer Christophe Galati will release Save me Mr. Tako: Definitive Edition for Switch via the Nintendo eShop and PC via Steam on May 5, the developer announced.
The original Save me Mr. Tako: Tasukete Tako-San was released in October 2018 and removed from digital store windows back in October 2020 after the original publisher Nicalis and developer Christophe Galati separated. Users who already own Save me Mr. Tako: Tasukete Tako-San will have to buy Save me Mr. Tako: Definitive Edition to receive the new content.
“Last year for the two-year anniversary of the game, I announced that I had divorced my former publisher Nicalis, which led to the game being removed from stores (Steam and Nintendo eShop),” Galati explains. ‘Because the game has been removed and is now under a new publisher, we can not paste the existing game and should rather render it as a new title. Unfortunately, this means that anyone who has purchased the original game before will still have to purchase this new version in order to enjoy all the new content. I contacted both Valve and Nintendo to see if I could do a special discount for players with the original version in their library, but that is unfortunately impossible. I wish things would have gone differently, but otherwise the game would have remained stuck in its original and flawed form. ”
Limited Run Games too announced it will be a physical edition of Save my Mr. Tako: Definitive Edition ‘On consoles’, with more information to be announced later.
