‘Saturday Night Live’ directs Marjorie Taylor Greene, GameStop, back in the air

“Saturday Night Live” returned for a new year, and had fun with Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), The effects of the coronavirus vaccine and a Wall Street crisis during the cold opening program.

In a text titled “What still works”, actress and comedian Kate McKinnon presented a joking talk show with a bunch of co-stars who have cheated on various figures in the news over the past few weeks.

Among them was Greene.

“Thank you for having me,” comedian Cecily Strong, who portrays Greene, tells McKinnon and immediately offers her a gun.

McKinnon then asks about some conspiracy theories she promoted on social media before being elected to Congress in November.

Strong’s Greene rattles off a list of false allegations about Parkland High School in 2018 and the terrorist attacks on September 11 in New York City and asks, “Did anyone really see that happen?”

McKinnon, apparently worried and confused, asks, “Are you an American representative?” and press her about what her colleagues at Capitol Hill did in response to her statements.

“They promoted me to the Education Committee,” says Strong’s Greene.

“So the government is not working,” McKinnon replied.

Pete Davidson, a member of the cast, then joins McKinnon and plays the role of a man identified as the “majority shareholder of GameStop”.

“Uhhh, we’re selling games,” says a seemingly unconscious Davidson. “People are downloading all their games now, so we’m similar to what you would call.”

A dying business? ‘Ask McKinnon. “It now looks like …”

“The whole system is a joke?” Davidson says.

A crash on GameStop shares last week by Internet-based armchair investors led to the value of the Wall Street company skyrocketing before the stock trading app Robinhood suspended trading on the company. an action that was relegated with a two-way setback.

Longtime cast member Keenan Thompson also made an appearance during the first cold opening show of the new year, playing the role of OJ Simpson and wearing a single-track device while boasting about the coronavirus vaccination.

“So OJ Simpson was among the first 3 percent of all Americans to get the vaccine?” Ask McKinnon.

“Guilty as charged … over the vaccine,” Simpson replied.

“Okay so the vaccination of the vaccine, it does not work,” she said.
