‘Saturday Night Live’ addresses Gina Carano’s ‘Mandalorian’ firing

Saturday Night Live dismissed Gina Carano from The Mandalorian after the actress shared controversial and offensive posts on social media.

The reports of the Cara Dune star, who compared criticism of a person’s political beliefs to the persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany, were described by Disney as ‘abominable and unacceptable’, with the studio confirming that she no longer is not employed by Lucasfilm.

SNLsay Weekend update segment has now tackled the controversy and asked whether Star Wars had the authority to consider what is anti-Semitic.

‘Yes, I do not know if Star Wars is the authority over what is anti-Semitic, ”said co-host Colin Jost. ‘Remember the desert junk dealer of Phantom Menace? ”

The program then plays a clip of character Watto from the prequels, who is accused of being an anti-Semitic stereotype.

“If it’s not Nazi propaganda, I do not know what it is,” Jost added.

Carano has previously stopped calling calls The Mandalorian after posting anti-mask tweets, as well as unfounded claims of voter fraud and posts considered transphobic.

After her dismissal last week, she quit with the agency UTA, the actress entered into a new agreement with the right-wing website The Daily Wire to develop, produce and star in an upcoming film.
