We can now add the young Kryptonian Supergirl target kicker to Warner Media’s ongoing efforts to (at least!) Duplicate every character in their DC Comics movie and TV schedules, with Deadline reports that Sasha Calle will play a new version of the character in Andy Muschietti’s upcoming Flash Movie. Calle is best known for her role in The Young And The Restless, where she has appeared in the last 283 or so episodes. (This is ‘since 2018’ in non-soap talk.)

Muschietti posted a video on his Instagram today showing the moment he revealed to Calle that she’s been cast in the cast, and it’s, very well, very cute and sweet. Calle is reportedly one of the 400 artists who auditioned for the role (apparently not even knowing what role they were going to play for much of the process); she read with the star of the film, Ezra Miller, among others, as part of the extensive investigation process. Calle is the first Latinx actor to play the character, currently played by Melissa Benoist in The CW’s Arrowverse of shows.

Meanwhile, not much is known yet The flash, which has been in development for years now without moving much forward. The biggest news was of course the addition of Michael Keaton’s Batman to the cast, which makes it clear that the film is likely to drop sharply in the DC Comics multiverse. There is also the large intended part will not go forward; Ray Fisher’s Cyborg would have originally appeared in the film, but his sincere disagreements with DC Films over alleged abusive treatment on the set of Justice League has scorched that particular earth pretty thoroughly now al.
