Sarah Silverman apologizes to Paris Hilton for the past in prison that the hotel heir ‘wanted to die’

Sarah Silverman publicly apologized to Paris Hilton after the hotel heiress recently recalled jokes the comedian made about her jail time during the 2007 MTV Movie Awards.

The funny woman spoke on Thursday about her “The Sarah Silverman Podcast” and said she only recently learned that a letter she wrote to Hilton years ago had never been received. She lamented that the ‘hardcore’ jokes were ‘kind of immediate’.

“Here, 14 years later, I’m telling you, Paris, that I’m really sorry,” Silverman told Us Weekly. “I was then and I am now, much more complete and with much more understanding.”

Silverman made the jokes during the 2007 awards show, which took place just one day before she had to report to jail due to a probationary period. Hilton was also present.

During her routine, Silverman apparently joked: ‘I heard the guards were going to paint the bars to look like penises to make her feel comfortable in jail. I’m just worried she’s going to break her teeth on those things. ‘

Hilton remembers the humiliation she felt at that moment in an episode of her own podcast with sister Nicky Hilton this week. She said she was sitting there, “wanting to die.”

“Of course I was very nervous. I went to the MTV Awards. I knew I was going to report myself in jail in a few hours … just get dressed, go there, try to be brave. And then just to sit in the audience with her to literally humiliate me in public, to be so mean, so cruel, ”Hilton said.

Hilton remembers the ‘whole audience laughing’ and that Silverman’s jokes ‘will not stop’.

“It was so painful,” Hilton recalled.

PARIS HILTON INVOLVED IN CARTER REUM: ‘YES TO ETERNAL’

Hilton responded to Silverman’s apology on Thursday, calling the comedian’s words ‘real’ and ‘so sweet’.

“It really moved me,” Hilton told her sister during the delivery of “This is Paris.”

“I felt emotional to hear it and I could see that she really meant what she said when she apologized. Thank you, I really appreciate you doing it,” she added.

Hilton was ordered to serve three days in prison for violating the probation period as a result of a DUI arrest. She was housed in the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, California, but was released early. She then served 20 days under house arrest.

For the past few months, Hilton, now 40, has been very outspoken about her life in the spotlight and her public image. Besides being Silverman’s joke, she also paid attention to a previous interview with David Letterman that made her feel uncomfortable.

The star said that she appeared in ‘The Late Show With David Letterman’ in September 2007 to promote a new perfume, but that she quickly talked about her short time in prison. In the podcast, the “Stars Are Blind” singer said Letterman “pushes me and pushes me” to talk about her jail time, though she had previously agreed to avoid it.

“It was off limits and he would not discuss it, and we would just be there to promote the perfume and my other businesses,” Hilton said. “I felt it was a safe place because I’ve been going to Letterman for so many years.”

Hilton said she asked Letterman, now 73, during commercial breaks to stop asking her for jail.

“You promised me not to talk about it and that’s the only reason I agreed to come to the program,” she recalls.

She said Letterman agreed to stop talking about her prison sentence, but would discuss it as soon as the cameras started turning again. “It was just very cruel and very mean,” Hilton said. “And after it ended, I looked at him and said, ‘I’ll never be in the show again. You crossed the line.'”
